Baby Deer

Regan has been obsessed with Baby Deer or Deer in general.  We have several that live around our home.  On this day it was first thing in the AM and the kids were getting dressed as you can see my the toddler buns.  There were 3 of them munching on the bird seed on the ground.  Cooper was enjoying them as well.

Family Fun Calendar

So  every year time seem to fly on by around the holidays and everyone get so wrapped up in just that one day.  A few years ago I started make this family fun calendar.  We try to put a different thing on each day for us to do as a family.  The kids help me make a list and they I look at what we have going on and place them all on the calendar.  It is a ton of fun and It gives us lot of great memories.

Here is this years… If you give it a try let me know how you like it.  We do lots of easy things some that are quick and some that are just things you do at this time of the year.  Two of the kids favs are the kids choice and sleeping under the tree.

Frist day of School

Well better late then never.  The kids have been in school now going on week 4.  They are both doing great.  Aiden had a very trying start to school with just having his tonsils out about 2 weeks before and being in a class with on one he new.   Sheriden is in love with school she has a great teacher.  Her teacher loves her.  "she is so sweet she just comes to school with a great attitude"   Now for Regan and Mommy, we has taken about 4 weeks to adjust to them not being home.

Always on the look out

Polyphemus Moth

We all seem to be nature lovers at heart.  I fould this moth perched in the garden drying it's wings.  After a while I took everyone out to see it.  Aiden went right to his Golden Guide on Butterfiles and Moths.  It is so nice when you can get them doing school work with out them knowing it.

Grandpa enjoyed showing if off to everyone.

Art inspired by Kandinsky

On of the more recent snow days we painted just before lunch.

We were inspired by he later works that were much more abstract
Kandinsky's art work is very interesting to look at over the time he lived and matured as an artist.

It was neat to see him talking about his porject with his judge.

He recived a cool tee and a ribbon can't get any better then that.

We are proud of him it was his choice to do the fair and he did a great job.

Kid to Kid Post Office

On Monday we headed went on rt 90 and went to Strong Museum of play, I was packed. We meet up with some friends. All the kids had fun but the crowds left the parents on alert more then normal, this lead to tired and cranky parents. While our friends braved the long line going in to Wegmans we heading in to the Kid to Kid Post Office. I think my kids could spend an hour in this section they just milled about for 1/2 hour. They need better parent chairs in his area.
Aiden post box man.

Sheriden Mailing

Teacher gift idea

Sheriden's teacher was out having surgery so she missed Valentines day with the kids. I helped the sub who was her sister to get both classes (40 kids) to make her personalized water bottles.

We had each child color on a strip of paper then I laminated them and hot glued them to the water bottle. They came out so awesome, I hear she has loved them and was brought to tears.... Love it.

Super Bowl Fun

So we went over to a friends house last night for a gathering to watch the big game. What fun tons of food, Friends, Kids and Dogs. Their are three family's that hang out a lot and we all adopted new pups with in the same month. So the brave host not only invited the families but also the pups. Cooper played and ran for over 3 hours before passing out in the dog bed with his new best friend Lonnie.
Now on Monday he is still tired. We were up picking up Sheirden's room and she has this little stuffed animal bed for her unicorn, Cooper found this a comfortable spot to lounge. I'm not so sure that Pink is his color, but it made Sheriden's day!

They are alive

Well the mid winter thaw has shown us the pond. As you can see the fish are all still up right and swimming. Swimming slowly but moving. We did get something to keep a hole in the ice to let the bad gases escape the water. As you can see from this photo there is a thin layer of ice over the pond still.

Dog toys

Trying to keep our puppy busy is a task in its self. Last week I went to the pet store and man you can spend a months paycheck on toys for doggies. So, my creative side stepped in....

I took a few clean empty plastic containers and drilled one hole in it the size of the dog food or treat. then place in your desired item, screw on time and you are all set.

The dog will roll and flip it trying to get the treat out. Not only does copper love it but our older dogs do as well.

Note: Now you must use you noggin and watch the toy if it gets to eaten up or nasty do your dog a favor and toss it.

Copper

Here is our newest addition to our pack. Cooper is a terrier mix and is about 15 weeks old. He has been with us for about 3 weeks now. He is doing great here. Has falling right it to the daily life here. He loves to go and pick the kids up from school. He has done fabulous house training. We are using a crate with him we have not with our other dogs but they were all older when we adopted them. Still seems funny to me to put him in a crate. He is just such a cutie.

Regan trying to get a look at the new ID tag Cooper is sporting. Sheriden picked it out and help punch in the text for it. Cooper is great with the kids.

Cooper come to us from a local rescue group. He was taken from an Ohio Shelter where he and the rest of his litter mates were adopted out. His litter was found at a gas station and taken to the shelter. He was adopted by a young couple that had not had a dog before. Needless to say he pee and pooed on their floor (how woudl he not he is just a baby) so they brought him back. This shelter to my understanding has a strict policy that if a animal is brought back it must be put down. He was saved by this rescue group. Cooper is such a sweet pup, if you are looking for an animal of any kind I encourage you to rescue one they make the best pets.
